Proper selection of a silicone pad is essential for successful pad printing. Size, Shape and rigidity of the silicone rubber are the three most important things to consider.
Most importantly the transfer pad must fit into your machine and be capable of compressing the chosen shape and size. The printing pad should not interfere with the inking cup, cliché or any ink that may build up along the edges of the cliché while compressing.
When choosing the pad size for a particular application, keep in mind the pads body acts as the foundation for the print surface. If the print surface is not adequately supported, it will deform, resulting in image distortion or part damage. You must choose enough pad mass to avoid image distortion.
WHEN TO CHANGE A PAD PRINTING PAD
All pad printing pads have a certain life, but this can be extended by properly caring for your pads. Pad printing pads should be cleaned between use and ink should never be left on a pad overnig
